Mountain Centre Crown of the Earth

The Mountain Centre Crown of the Earth is an interactive museum dedicated to mountains and mountaineering, located in the Legednia Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko amusement park in Chorzów. The exhibition focuses on the history of climbing the Crown of the Earth – the highest peaks of each continent – and on the achievements of Polish Himalayan climbers. Visitors receive tablets that allow them to learn more about the exhibits and can also take part in a multimedia game tailored to their age. The display features three-meter-tall models of famous mountains, including Mount Everest and Elbrus, as well as a replica of Babia Góra for comparison. A separate section shows the evolution of climbing clothing and equipment – from tweed jackets to modern suits. The centre is fully wheelchair accessible, has a café and a gift shop. It is a place for everyone – from mountain enthusiasts to families with children who want to discover the world of mountaineering in an engaging way.
