Nowy Wiśnicz and Wiśnicko-Lipnicki Landscape Park
Nowy Wiśnicz is a picturesque town in Lesser Poland, located in the heart of the Wiśnicko-Lipnicki Landscape Park. The main attraction is the Renaissance castle, which towers over the area and offers panoramic views. The castle houses a museum with rich collections, and guided tours are available during the summer season. It is also worth visiting Koryznówka – a wooden manor where Jan Matejko used to stay. The artist came here to sketch the surrounding landscapes and create humorous drawings for his family. The landscape park features rolling hills, forests, and natural monuments such as the Grzyb and Kamienie Brodzińskiego rock formations. It is an ideal place for hiking, family bike trips, or peaceful relaxation in nature. The area is rich in history – the Hungarian Trail, a former trade route connecting Poland with Hungary, runs through here. For lovers of wooden architecture, the church in Rajbrot is an interesting destination. Nowy Wiśnicz and the landscape park are a perfect idea for a day trip from Krakow or Bochnia.
