Palace in Pilica
The Palace in Pilica is a picturesque ruin located in the Silesian Voivodeship, along the Trail of the Eagles' Nests. The building sits in a park at Zamkowa Street, surrounded by wild greenery. Although it is private property and renovation works are underway, the area is accessible to visitors. The palace impresses with its majestic facade featuring a balcony supported by six columns, decorations around the windows, sphinxes by the stairs, and an ornamental fountain. Unfortunately, the plaster is peeling, and the balcony structure is propped up. Inside, empty halls with reliefs and stone fireplaces can be seen. At the back, there are remnants of a garden and fortifications. The coach house is in the worst condition, while the better-preserved outbuilding has been converted into apartments. The palace's history dates back to the 16th century, with numerous reconstructions. This place attracts history and architecture enthusiasts, as well as cyclists traveling the Trail of the Eagles' Nests. Strolling through the park, one can rest on a meadow, search for remains of a gazebo, or enjoy views of the surrounding fields and churches. Nearby attractions include the renovated market square in Pilica, the Church of St. John the Baptist, and the old Jewish cemetery.
