Łańcut Castle
Łańcut Castle is one of the most famous residences in the Podkarpacie region, located in Łańcut at 1 Zamkowa Street. Its history dates back to the 16th century when the Pilecki family built the first defensive tower. In the 17th century, the Lubomirski family transformed it into a palazzo in fortezza with bastion fortifications. In the 19th century, Princess Izabela Lubomirska turned the bastions into gardens, and an English-style park remains today. The castle survived World War II without major damage, which is rare. In 2016, over 80 rooms were renovated and can be explored with an audio guide or a guided tour. The interiors retain original furnishings, including furniture, paintings, and musical instruments. The grounds also feature a carriage house with the largest collection of horse-drawn vehicles in Poland and an orchid house opened in 2008. The castle park invites leisurely walks. The site is open seasonally, and a combined ticket grants access to all attractions. It is an excellent destination for families, school trips, and history enthusiasts.
