Ojców
Ojców is a small village about 30 km from Krakow, nestled in the Prądnik Valley within the Ojcowski National Park. The village is renowned for its medieval Ojców Castle, built by King Casimir the Great in the 14th century, and its distinctive 19th-century spa architecture. Highlights include the Chapel on Water, as well as the Ciemna and Łokietka caves, popular with nature enthusiasts. The landscape is dotted with striking rock formations such as Brama Krakowska and Igła Deotymy. The area offers numerous hiking and cycling trails, perfect for families, couples, and groups. Visitors can also sample the local specialty – Ojców trout. In 2020, Ojców was awarded in the competition Tourist Treasures of Lesser Poland in the category 'Place with Atmosphere'. It is an ideal destination for a weekend getaway, combining history, nature, and relaxation.
