Viewing tower on Wielka Sowa

The viewing tower on Wielka Sowa is the most popular viewpoint in the Sowie Mountains, located in Sokolec, Lower Silesia. This 25-meter brick, enclosed structure offers panoramic views of Śnieżka, Śnieżnik, Ślęża, and the Czech Broumovské Stěny. Admission is free, but a maximum of 15 people are allowed at the top at once, which may cause queues on summer weekends. On-site facilities include a souvenir shop, a café, a chapel, and shelters with a fireplace. The tower is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Several easy trails lead to Wielka Sowa, e.g., from Sokolec (1.5 h), Walim (2 h), or Rościszów (2.5 h). It is an ideal destination for families, hikers of all fitness levels, and nature lovers. Free parking and toilets are available.
