Lipnica Murowana
Lipnica Murowana is a small village in Lesser Poland, with about 900 inhabitants. In the Middle Ages, it was an important town on the trade route connecting Hungary with Krakow. The original market square layout from the Magdeburg Law foundation has been preserved. The main attraction is the wooden Church of St. Leonard from the 15th century, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is one of the most valuable Gothic wooden churches in Poland, featuring beautiful polychrome paintings. In 1997, the church was damaged by a flood but was restored and raised. Admission is free, but prior appointment is required. Visitors can also try the local linden tea and explore the Wiśnicko-Lipnicki Landscape Park. The site is ideal for families, couples, and groups interested in history and architecture.
