Opole
Opole, the capital of Opole Voivodeship, is one of the oldest cities in Poland, with 800 years of history. Picturesquely situated on the Oder River and the Młynówka canal, it boasts a historic Old Town and numerous attractions. The city's symbol is the Piast Tower on Pasieka Island – a 42-meter leaning tower from the 13th century, offering panoramic views from its top. On the same island are the amphitheater hosting the famous Polish Song Festival and the Museum of Polish Song, featuring interactive exhibits and audio guides. For families, the Opole Zoo on Bolko Island is a must – a small but modern zoo with lions, tigers, gorillas, and California sea lions. A stroll through Opole Venice, a charming area along the Młynówka, is also recommended. The city provides free parking, many cafes and restaurants, and easy access via the A4 highway. Opole is perfect for a weekend getaway for everyone.
