Karłów
Karłów is a picturesque tourist village in Lower Silesia, nestled at the foot of Szczeliniec Wielki in the Stołowe Mountains. It serves as an excellent base for hiking enthusiasts. The main attraction is Szczeliniec Wielki, accessible via the yellow or blue hiking trail, partly on wooden walkways and steps. The summit offers viewing platforms, but the onward route requires a fee to enter the Stołowe Mountains National Park. Another must-see are the Błędne Skały (Errant Rocks), a red trail through narrow rock labyrinths where you sometimes have to squeeze through. Families with children will enjoy the Dinosaur Park below Szczeliniec. The scenic Droga Stu Zakrętów (Road of a Hundred Bends) passes through Karłów, linking Radków and Kudowa-Zdrój; above it lies Fort Karola with a panoramic view of the Stołowe Mountains and Radkowskie Skały rocks. In summer, visitors can cycle on the International Stołowe Mountains Cycling Route, while in winter, about 50 km of cross-country ski trails around Szczeliniec Wielki are available. Karłów appeals to all ages, offering both gentle walks and challenging treks.
