Park Krajobrazowy Orlich Gniazd

The Eagles' Nests Landscape Park is a picturesque area located in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, near Klucze in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Established in 1981, it covers approximately 48,368 hectares. Its name comes from the medieval castles built on high limestone rocks, known as the Eagles' Nests. The park features ruins of fortresses such as Ogrodzieniec, Bobolice, and Mirów castles. One of its main attractions is the Błędów Desert, often called the Polish Sahara. The charming Wodąca Valley impresses with limestone rock formations and a viewing platform on the Zegarowe Rocks. The park offers numerous hiking and cycling trails, including the Eagles' Nests Trail. It is a haven for nature lovers, with around 1,300 plant species, including orchids, and a rich fauna of bats, amphibians, and birds of prey. It is an ideal destination for families, groups, and anyone seeking active outdoor recreation.
