Pakoszów Palace in Piechowice

Pakoszów Palace is a Baroque residence located in Piechowice, within the picturesque Valley of Palaces and Gardens of the Jelenia Góra basin. Built in 1725 by Johann Martin Gottfried, it served over centuries as a residence and a linen bleaching plant, hence the historical name „Bleaching House of Hess”. After World War II it functioned as an orphanage, and since 2012, after careful renovation, it has been revived as an elegant hotel and restaurant with a summer terrace. The palace is open to visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Guests can admire the late Baroque façade, the restored ballroom with allegorical ceiling frescoes, the library, and the surrounding garden. In the past, it hosted intellectuals such as poet Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock and future US President John Quincy Adams. The palace is an excellent base for exploring other residences of the Valley of Palaces and Gardens and the attractions of the Karkonosze Mountains. It appeals to lovers of history, architecture, and refined relaxation.
