Huta Szkła Julia
Julia Crystal Glass Factory in Piechowice is a unique place where the tradition of crystal glass production dates back to the late 19th century. Founded by Fritz Heckert, the factory quickly gained recognition, competing with the Josephine Glassworks in Szklarska Poręba. After World War II, the plant came under Polish ownership and in 1958 was renamed Julia. At the turn of the century, it faced bankruptcy, but since 2006 new owners have revived the production of handcrafted high-quality glassware. Today, the factory blends history with the present – during a guided tour, visitors can watch master artisans at work, blowing, cutting, and decorating glass. In addition to demonstrations, group workshops are offered: engraving, a mini-furnace for children, and glass painting. The site is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and tickets can be purchased on site. It is an ideal attraction for families, groups, and anyone interested in the art of glassmaking.
