Polana Jakuszycka
The Jakuszycka Glade is a modern sports center located in Jakuszyce, part of Szklarska Poręba, in the heart of the Karkonosze and Izera Mountains. It is a true mecca for cross-country skiing enthusiasts, offering around 100 km of trails of varying difficulty. Thanks to excellent snow conditions, the snow cover often lasts until late spring. The site houses the Dolnośląskie Centrum Sportu Polana Jakuszycka, which provides year-round sports opportunities: in winter cross-country skiing and biathlon, in summer mountain biking and hiking. Every year, the famous Bieg Piastów (Piast Run) takes place here, one of the most important cross-country skiing events in Poland. For visitors' convenience, there are equipment rentals and ski schools. An additional attraction is the Izera Railway stop – the highest railway station in Poland, making it easy to reach by train. The place is ideal for both amateurs and professionals, as well as families seeking active recreation in nature.
