Sanktuarium Nawiedzenia Najświętszej Maryi Panny i świętego Stanisława Biskupa i Męczennika w Tuchowie
The Sanctuary of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr is located in Tuchów, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, on the hills of the Ciężkowice Foothills. It is one of the oldest and most visited Marian sanctuaries in southeastern Poland. The complex features a baroque church from the 17th century, alongside a 19th-century Redemptorist monastery. Since 1597, pilgrims have been drawn by the miraculous Renaissance image of Our Lady of Tuchów, painted around 1530-1540. The revered painting is enshrined in the late baroque main altar from 1741. The church interior boasts baroque and rococo altars, and the choir loft houses a 29-stop organ from 1994. Within the monastery, three museums operate: the Redemptorist Missionary Museum with a moving nativity scene, the Sanctuary Museum, and the Ethnographic Museum. The sanctuary is a pilgrimage site, with major indulgences in July, May, and September. It appeals to everyone, from the faithful to enthusiasts of sacred art and history.
