The viewing tower at Jawor Castle is a viewpoint in the south-western wing of the historic castle in Jawor, Lower Silesia. The castle was built in the 13th century as the seat of the Silesian Piasts, and from 1764 it served as a prison for nearly two centuries. Numerous destructions and reconstructions have left little of its original form. Today, the 25-metre-high tower is open to visitors, offering panoramic views of the city and the Kaczawa Foothills. The tower is part of the Land of Extinct Volcanoes trail, appealing to geotourists. Nearby attractions include the Church of Peace, Regional Museum, market square with town hall, Franciscan monastery, and municipal theatre. The site is open Wednesday to Sunday: November to March 10:00–16:00, April to October 10:00–17:00. Jawor is easily accessible by car via the A4 highway or national road 3, as well as by train or bus.
